Description

Delicious Honey Soy Sticky Chicken Wings featuring tender baked wings coated in a flavorful homemade honey-soy glaze, perfect for a savory appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Wings

  • 1 dozen chicken wings (raw)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Sticky Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon ginger, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Bake Wings: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken wings with salt and pepper, then arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for approximately 30 minutes until they begin to cook through and start browning.
  2. Prepare Sauce: While the wings bake, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sesame oil in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil. In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to form a thin slurry, then add it to the boiling sauce. Reduce heat and stir until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Baste Wings: After 30 minutes of baking, remove the wings from the oven and lightly baste them with the prepared sticky sauce. Return the wings to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes to allow the glaze to set and caramelize.
  4. Toss and Garnish: Once baking is complete, remove the wings from the oven. Place them in a bowl with any remaining sauce and toss to coat evenly. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  • You can adjust honey quantity for desired sweetness.
  • For extra crispiness, broil wings for 2-3 minutes after final baking, watching closely to avoid burning.
  • Make sure to coat wings evenly when tossing in the sauce for maximum flavor.
