Description

This Easy Sheet Pan Taco Pizza is a quick and flavorful weeknight meal combining the convenience of a sheet pan pizza with the bold tastes of a taco. Featuring a crispy baked dough base topped with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and fresh taco toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream, this recipe serves six and can be customized with your choice of refried beans or salsa for added depth. Ready in just 25 minutes, it’s perfect for a crowd-pleasing dinner that’s both satisfying and simple to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough or crescent roll dough

For the Meat

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup refried beans or salsa (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro or green onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Bake Crust: Preheat your oven to 375°F (or follow the temperature suggested on the dough package). Roll out the refrigerated pizza or crescent roll dough onto a greased or parchment-lined sheet pan, pressing it evenly to the edges. Bake for 8–10 minutes until the crust is golden and partially cooked.
  2. Cook Taco Meat: While the crust is baking, heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef or turkey until browned. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning packet and 1/4 cup water. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the seasoning is well incorporated and the meat is flavorful.
  3. Assemble Pizza: Remove the baked crust from the oven and, if using, spread the refried beans or salsa evenly over the surface as a base layer. Distribute the cooked taco meat over the crust, then sprinkle the shredded cheese generously on top.
  4. Melt Cheese: Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden around the edges.
  5. Add Fresh Toppings: Once out of the oven, allow the pizza to cool slightly. Then top with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sour cream or Greek yogurt, and garnish with chopped cilantro or green onion if desired.
  6. Serve: Slice the pizza into servings and enjoy immediately while warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey for ground beef for a leaner option.
  • Using refried beans adds creaminess and depth but salsa is a lighter alternative.
  • Adjust the toppings to your preference, such as adding jalapeños or avocado slices.
  • Leftover taco pizza can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven to retain crispness.
  • For a spicier kick, add hot sauce to the taco meat or top with crushed red pepper flakes.
